We have an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Development Manager in our National Center office in Dallas, TX.

The Marketing Development Manager will focus on assisting senior sales and development staff in creating proposals that will enable AHA to secure foundation grants and major gifts dollars. This person will also work with other staff on corporate relationship opportunities to the extent that it impacts proposals in major gifts and foundation grants. Report directly to the Director of Consumer Health Strategies.

Critical to this position is the ability to write well, understand marketing and healthcare concepts, the ability to synthesize all concepts into a cohesive proposal and convey the benefits of such a proposal to the health of Americans and thus help the AHA achieve their health impact goals. For major gifts, a comprehensive understanding of program design, performance-based outcomes, and sustainability, and the need to synthesize information for non healthcare individuals is also important. Experience in consumer focused healthcare is preferred.

Major Responsibilities Include:
1. Proposal Writing and Management
*Develop well written, complete proposals (inclusive of financials), templates, and accompanying presentations for corresponding AHA opportunities in line with goals of the organization and priorities of the department.
*Develop ongoing inventory of opportunities for major gifts/grants.
2. Information Sharing and Making Connections
*Serve as a liaison between senior staff for Major Gifts and Foundations and key areas of AHA such as Consumer Health, Advocacy, Quality and Communications during the preparation of proposals. Continually provide feedback both ways.
*Continually meet with specific business areas within departments to understand their priorities, and their unmet opportunities. Stay abreast of funding proposals in process with Corporate Relations.
3. Understanding the priorities of each department, consult with major gift staff to suggest matching opportunities based on the interests of the potential donor or sponsor.
4. Develop a program/product inventory list, program review and submission template and budget template to reduce complexity and streamline organization buy-in and approval.
5. Create a master spreadsheet of corporate relations opportunities in process, in order to monitor which programs/products are also being presented to potential sponsors.
6. Identify process and procedures to ensure efficiencies in developing new proposals and leveraging existing ones.
7. Ensure that all proposals and budgets are approved by appropriate leadership in each representative department.

Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience and education.
2. Minimum of 7 years of marketing experience in the Consumer Health area.
3. Background in patient health and quality health preferred.
4. Non-profit, grant writing, and presentation development experience preferred.
5. Demonstrated ability in writing, budgeting, critical thinking, presenting, and marketing.
6. Preferred experience in developing proposals and opportunities for new business development.
7. Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
