Overview
 

Huitt-Zollars' Houston Downtown office has a full-time Architectural Intern II position. This role prepares and reviews design and construction documents and specifications in support of project managers. This role is a great opportunity to advance your architectural career. HZ is a leading Architectural and Engineering firm providing innovative planning, engineering, architectural and interior design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development.
  • Coordinates development of project design with project managers and consultants.
  • Monitors construction progress through on-site inspection and review.
  • Project related contact with clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Selects and recommends materials to be used on projects.
  • Responsible for the design and/or detailing of certain building assemblies and components.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Task oriented time management
  • Proficient in Revit is a requirenment
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Technical capacity to research and apply building codes and understand commercial building components
  • Technical capacity to assembly documentation packages for client and agency needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment and present in a meetings

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture required
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of related experience in Commercial
