Pay Range: $37-$50/hr, depending on experience
Principal Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
  • Provides technical assistance on equipment commissioning and start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed air systems. Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance in an unsupervised environment
  • Conducts safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment.
  • Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
  • Serves as technical support for customers, account managers, and operations.
  • Able to research complex technical problem and find solutions
  • Document service and repair activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets.
  • Increase customer's awareness of Critical Rentals additional products and services.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements.
  • Explains practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with suppliers and others outside of the job area.
  • Performs tasks requiring analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Provides assistance and training to Apprentices and Core Field Service Technicians.
  • Ensures proper operation of rental equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and inspections on a wide variety of compressors, desiccant dryers and additional compressed air components.
  • Works with Services Coordinator to order and obtain parts and supplies necessary to complete projects.
  • Travel to customer sites, occasional overtime, and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet customers' needs.
  • Some overnight travel for rental start-up and decommission.
  • Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation)
  • Basic vibration troubleshooting
  • Basic Air Quality (system compressor/dryer - air treatment)
Candidate Profile
  • Desired applicants will have 3-5 years' experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial equipment and mechanical systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Desired emphasis in Industrial Maintenance/Air-Gas Rotating Equipment
  • Millwright/Industrial Electrical/Multi-Craft/Aviation/Instrumentation and Controls with knowledge in some or all of the following: motor control circuits, wiring diagrams/schematics, PLC, on-board controllers.
  • Veterans and candidates who possess military training highly desired.
  • Candidates who possess advanced knowledge or skills but have not completed a formal program will be considered.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and other basic computer usage. Proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) and network data bases.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced customer service skills including conflict management and opportunity development/consulting.
  • Use of advanced troubleshooting tools
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment,
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (480 voltage) with NFPA or equivalent standards.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
