SUMMARY OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

• Makes decisions on technical problems and methods which require the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
• Establish or modify processes for air and wire extrusions. Setup, operation and monitoring of extrusion equipment. Includes selection of tooling and design of fixturing required for extrusion process.
• Works on special projects, writes ECN's, and creates prototypes.
• Receives technical advice from engineers or supervisor for complex problems.
• May supervise the work of technicians or others who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers.
• Writes reports, extracts engineering or other data from various reports and processes and presents the data.
• Work independently of others as well as with team members, area managers, and support personnel
• Wear PPE, as required, and observe health, safety and environmental policies
• Performs other duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field related to the department of assignment or industry with six years previous related experience, a Master's Degree with four years previous related experience, or a Ph.D with two years previous related experience.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Background in Polymer Science or Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to independently apply analytical skills and scientific technical principles in problem solving and development.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
• Ability to work well as a team member.

COMPETENCIES

• Previous extrusion experience is desired.
• Scientific problem solving/decision-making
• High energy personality with the desire to perform hands-on tasks.
• Engineering data report extraction/processing/presentation/writing
