The Draftsman will develop electrical drawings (Junction Box Diagrams, Wiring Schematics, etc.) of company Drilling Rig components under the direction of the Drafting Manager and our Technical Services team. Develop electrical library, update wiring diagrams of rig components, and collaborate with Drafting and Engineering Manager, Special Projects, Rig Construction, and Operations personnel on rig component electrical and instrumentation design and modifications. Work will extend to sketching existing components in field, rig yard, or supplier facilities, to newly developed designs.

This position reports directly to the Drafting Manager.

Detailed Description:

• Control Schematics, PLC Cabinet Layouts, Loop Diagrams, etc.
• Communicate with others on rig component development
• Develop and manage workload to meet required planning date
• Assist with plot plans and marketing layouts
• Measuring existing equipment skids and capturing modifications
• All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must possess strong computer skills with ability to utilize Microsoft Office Software, e.g., MS Word, Power Point, Projects, Excel etc., and other discipline specific-software applications to drive efficiency in productivity
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and can engage with all levels of management, colleagues, and with individuals inside and outside of the Company
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team-based environment to accomplish company goals
• Self-motivated, flexible with workload
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work hard under pressure

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD Electrical utilizing Paper Space and Model Space
• Must have valid state-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive Company vehicle including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of structural steel, piping, and basic fabrication processes
• 5 years of experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD Electrical utilizing Paper Space and Model Space
• Experience with 3D modeling and detailing with AutoDesk Inventor software
• Associates Degree in Engineering Design Graphics (Drafting), or similar field of study
• Experience in the oil and gas rig building industry

Additional Details:

This position requires the person to be able to work in a time sensitive, high visibility role and must be able to work closely with others. Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
