In this regional role, you will be the technical point person for the sales organization in Automation & Electrification Solutions, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) in Houston, Texas, providing technical solutions and advice on ABB products, systems and applications within TX and the greater region. You will be responsible for supporting the assigned sales organization (division & market) and its customers throughout the digital solution proposals with respect to technical and commercial aspects, determining the costs, preparing final documentation and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective digital solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers.
  • Offer technical advice and provides comment on inquiry specifications to customers/channels/Sales Specialists regarding ABB products/systems/applications.
  • Provide digital solution technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations, and negotiations.
  • Perform analytical and diagnostic studies to determine the most suitable digital solution that meets the customer needs.
  • Propose technical solutions for complex enquiries.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to both internal staff and customers on complex product issues.
  • Offer product/solution/service related training.
  • Prepare and check technical articles for publication.
  • Prepare offers in coordination with the local sales unit and global Sales Specialists.
  • Ensure that the technical and financial aspects of offers, including price and trading conditions, are appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain new sales opportunities and manage resolution to specific customer problems.
  • Prepare digital product/solution presentations, in coordination with the Marketing Manager.
  • Ensure that budget (volume) and profitable growth targets are achieved in the respective countries and for the assigned product groups.
  • Ensure the achievement of targeted level of orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Provide technical support during the technical meeting, digital solution presentations and negotiations and offers related training.
  • Prepare/support preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, local business unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives.
  • Define cost for the proposed solution and communicate it to Sales organization.
  • Provide information for the risk review process, in accordance with ABB policy and participate in the risk review assessment, if required.
  • Analyze the customer needs and competitor offering through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization.
  • Perform analysis on lost proposals, identify potential cause and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales organization/local business unit to obtain better future results.
  • Share functional best practices and lessons learned, across the organization.
  • Implement global standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to digital operations/project execution and share functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization.
  • Demonstrate ABB's core values and group safety and integrity standards and acts accordingly.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies and processes in their assigned area.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting and risks.
  • Maintain constant communication with customers and internal functions, proactively, and provide them with the relevant information to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical issues reported by customers.
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Systems and minimum 8 years of Cyber Security solution execution experience with a strong understanding of operations technologies software.
  • Proven track record of leading large team to deliver results.
  • Knowledgeable in the digital OT, ET and IT ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with Sales Account Managers, Technical Account Managers and Client Managers and coaching them on how to win.
  • Passionate about IIOT digital solutions.
  • Strong ability to influence business units, teams and resources that you do not own.
  • Know how to successfully navigate complex organizations, give executive presentations and build executive relationships.
  • Solid technical background that will allow ABB to develop and deliver a set of netted solutions specifically designed to meet client needs.
  • Digital/Process Automation industry knowledge that translates solutions into value-based selling.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
