Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager-WLS, the HR Generalist will collaborate cross-functionally across all staff business units to provide a best-in-class candidate and client experience. This role will manage all assigned job requisitions throughout the full recruitment life cycle and partner with hiring managers to attain top talent within Winston Legal Solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruiting and Onboarding

  • Support all recruitment activities; create, post, and maintain all job postings on the appropriate external and internal sites; phone screen; administer pre-employment tests; interview and evaluate candidates; determine salary and extend employment offers; conduct background investigations and conflicts clearances; maintain recruiting database and job requisition files; prepare new hire paperwork; handle all onboarding functions, including orientation and firm integration.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Manager-WLS, Hiring Managers, and local office HR Business Partners to understand the requirements of open positions and assist in executing the eDiscovery and Information Governance business strategy.
  • Manage temporary and full-time staff candidates throughout the full life cycle recruitment process.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to provide recommendations throughout the recruitment process.
  • Continually develop a candidate pipeline and cultivates relationships with prospective candidates.
Compliance
  • Communicate with the HR Manager, hiring manager and consultants regarding staffing requests.
  • Send D4-A forms to non-DC residents for completion then to Payroll for processing.
  • Draft Winston staff orientation schedule, coordinate training, and schedule Teams meetings.
Employment Lifecycle

  • Update and maintain HRIS databases(s) such as VI Desktop, UKG, Smartsheet for WLIC full-time employees. Update Smartsheet for evaluations, Respect in the Workplace, etc.
  • Onboard new hires and maintain applicable spreadsheets - new hire spreadsheet, onboarding chart, review center contact chart.
  • Must be very skilled at finding talented individuals to meet the company's needs. This will require Recruiters to be active on social media forums, attend career fairs, make cold calls, visit local college campuses or universities to locate qualified candidates.
Employee Relations

  • Assist Human Resources Manager by keeping abreast of human resource laws and ordinances that impact local employment policies and practices. Advise of any employment changes and assist in drafting policies to recommend for review when needed.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assist Human Resources Manager- WLS and Team to keep and provide recruitment metrics.
  • Leverage technology to continually improve Human Resources efficiencies.
  • Support Affirmative Action and Diversity initiatives.
  • Special projects assigned by the Human Resources Team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Must be listed on resume to be considered):

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years full life cycle recruitment experience in a professional services organization or search firm required.
  • Attorney Recruitment experience required.
