Job Description Summary
The Category Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across all aspects of Archaea strategic spend. This includes taking strategic ownership of entire category and/or sub-category spend, developing strategies to drive the best pricing and commercial terms. This role will lead total cost of ownership reduction including vendor management, demand management, equipment standardization and governance/compliance to deliver savings. The Category Manager will coordinate sourcing efforts, drive RFQ process and supplier selection for assigned projects and execute sourcing initiatives. This will also involve partnering with functional stakeholders in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, R&D, Operations and other functions to drive excellent service levels to the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies within the assigned category, sub-category or project spend, including analysis of external markets.
  • Execute savings and cash targets through leveraged spend projects.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations (pricing, payment terms, terms and conditions.)
  • Drive streamlined standard process for Capital purchases.
  • Develop strategic suppliers and purchase catalogues to reduce cycle time from demand identification to PO placement.
  • Work closely with Operations and Supply chain to initiate, lead and execute demand management initiatives (e.g., equipment standardization, catalogue opportunities identification, spare parts and service cost price reduction)
  • Oversee end-to-end Sourcing process: strategy, market analysis, negotiation process (RFXs), supplier selection and contract creation.
  • Drive value through supplier relationship management
  • Promote best practices, measure and track internal performance, monitor strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization within the assigned category spend.

Job Specific Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, or Commercial.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading organizational, process, and culture change.
  • Strong experience within the assigned category spend group and complex project commercial negotiations

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering
  • Thought leader, collaborative mindset in working across functional areas.
  • Strong experience in Procurement processes
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Demonstrated negotiations skills.
  • Aggressive self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong track record for implementing change and delivering results.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
