Job Description
Chord Energy is seeking an innovative, results oriented, and process driven production engineering technician. This position will provide technical support for the production engineering and operations team. This role works closely with engineering and operations to gather and analyze data in support of company operations. The position will report to the engineering manager and is based in any of our North Dakota field offices. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Work with engineers and IT group to improve processes and streamline data
  • Build and continuously update Spotfire visuals to track failure rate, provide recommendations for improvement, and understand average job spend versus failure rate
  • Maintain artificial lift information databases including written documentation and tracking of failures and trials with new downhole equipment
  • Prepare data and reports to assist engineers in tracking performance against targets
  • Prepare failure reports to assist with monthly and quarterly failure reviews
  • Perform basin wide trending based on district level root cause analysis
  • Review data from daily well activity report, detailing cost, activity details, and data accuracy
  • Work with accounting and engineers on monthly workover expense accrual analysis
  • Train other techs on staff to increase data accuracy
  • Work with optimization team to identify root cause of failures and recommend improvements
  • Assist in optimizing workover rig schedule
  • Update best practices and work with engineering and optimization teams to apply 'Continuous Process Improvement Concepts'

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years experience in the E&P sector
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining databases
  • Excellent Communication skills & working in team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with production programs (e.g. Aries, WellView, Enertia)
  • Experience with Spotfire
  • Working experience writing python code or similar coding language
  • Knowledge of production operations
