Job Description

ARES is looking for an individual with experience in IT Customer Support to join our team supporting the Human Spaceflight Technical Integration contract at the Johnson Space Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the on-call ISS IT phone and email inbox to provide support.
  • Submit tickets based on requests and coordinate with project owners for issue resolution.
  • Perform system administration on a variety of ISS IT support resources, including account management, software configuration, data process maintenance, and other tasks.
  • Maintain procedures and documentation necessary for IT processes and issue resolution.
  • Review IT resource outage notices and distribute impacts to ISS IT community.
  • Maintain situational awareness of ISS IT operations and coordinate IT activities to accommodate support schedules.
  • Research and answer IT-related user questions.
  • Actively participate in team projects.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new environments and processes quickly.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely to customers and management.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
  • Experience working individually and actively participating on integrated teams.
  • Candidate should have experience with Windows and Mac support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a customer support, help desk, or application support position. Experience should include developing and following I.T. procedures and/or work instructions.

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

BA / BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

or

BA/BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience plus, five (5) years of IT experience.
