Huntsman is seeking a Global Safety Manager supporting the EHS Division located in The Woodlands, Texas.

Job Scope

The Global Safety Manager supports the regional EHS teams and operating sites through defining and maintaining the key global EHS systems such as the EHS Management System, the incident investigation lifecycle and other EHS improvement initiatives (e,g Lifesavers, ZERO harm). This is a highly influential role that will support the achievement Huntsman's EHS vision through deploying continuous improvements to global systems and policies. The Global Safety Manager leads a small team who provide expert support in the regions in the areas of transportation safety and general safety management.

The Global Safety Manager reports to the Safety & Operational Risk Director and is a key member of the Safety & Operational Risk Leadership team.

As the Global Safety Manager, your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the company's EHS Management System.
  • Identifies and implements best practices in the safety field in partnership with the EHS Global Leadership Group and senior manufacturing leadership.
  • Identifies and implements global safety improvement programs (e.g. Lifesavers) in partnership with the EHS Global Leadership Group and senior manufacturing leadership.
  • Acts as the focal point for global software solutions and manages their development in support of the operating sites.
  • Manages the incident learning cycle, ensuring that significant incidents are properly investigated and appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Leads the corporate safety team which provides transportation safety and general safety support to the Corporation.
  • Responsible for establishing global security policies and management of 3rd party providers.
  • Supports the audit function with safety expertise, participating in audits as required.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or EHS discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years post qualification experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an operations environment with a preference for high hazard site experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience.
  • An effective influencer with the ability to foster relationships and develop partnerships with both EHS and operational teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all cultures.
  • Travel as required for a global role.
