About the Team

FIS's award-winning Virtus solutions enable asset managers around the globe to effectively service the complex landscape of global credit markets. FIS' Virtus provides integrated solutions for trade order management, asset administration, portfolio management and credit research.

FIS Capital Markets, Trading and Asset Services is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong skills to join our global development team to work on the next generation of Virtus Middle Office and Collateral Administration product offerings. The individual will thrive by being a team-oriented player in a highly collaborative environment using agile development processes. The candidate must be a self-starter who is always open to optimizing existing development practices through new technologies, patterns, and processes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Participate in the agile (Scrum) process throughout the SDLC to produce high performing, advanced risk analytics for our customers.
  • Participate in project planning sessions, working closely with business analysts and other team members to analyze requirements and provide design recommendations for complex systems.
  • Design and develop new software or make modifications to existing complex software applications using disciplined processes, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in reviews of work, e.g. design and code reviews, and demonstrate software to all stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to other team members within areas of expertise.
  • Work with technical staff to analyze and understand problems with complex software and resolve them.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer/information sciences, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Typically, at least 8 years or more work experience in information technology or software engineering.
  • Expert knowledge of Object Orient Patterns and Design, Domain Driven Design, data structures and algorithms, parallel and distributed computing, SoA and multi-tier architectures.
  • Understanding of testing at every stage of development.
  • Experience with modern application architecture and development (Cloud native).
  • Expert development experience throughout the SDLC using Microsoft .NET/C#. WebAPI, ADO.NET knowledge is a must.
  • Working knowledge of development on Public Cloud - Azure / AWS.
  • Understanding of IaaC, DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines (Containerization, Terraform, Ansible, Bitbucket, GitHub, Harness, Jenkins).
  • Solid experience with relational and NoSQL database development, including logical design, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated expertise performance tuning applications from top to bottom, including profiling of applications. Experience with Open Telemetry.
  • Exceptional logical and analytical skills, with the ability to creatively troubleshoot and resolve challenging problems.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to effectively express ideas, engage in complex discussions, and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues. Ability to communicate with precision while being concise.
  • Proactive, delivery-oriented team player who takes responsibility for the team's success.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industries with knowledge of financial instruments in the credit space. Candidate must demonstrate interest in learning and applying financial concepts.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $108,170.00 - $181,720.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
