The position will have the opportunity to apply geologic skills to projects involving contaminated site assessment and remediation; construction management; environmental compliance; and forensic investigations and litigation support, while developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Conduct standard geologic/geohazard evaluations using geophysical and seismic data. Works on complex integrated projects interfacing with engineers, geologists, surveyors, and other marine related scientists.
  • Import 3D and 2D seismic or geophysical data;
  • Map seismic horizons, attributes, etc., using workstation software and produce maps;
  • Work with supervisor/project manager/engineers to formulate a geologic model and a report outline for text completion;
  • Add input on the model and relay to the team results and recommendations on path forward on projects;
  • Communicate with project manager(s) on project progress, goals, concerns, and deadlines on a daily/weekly basis;
  • Create figures for the report text to illustrate the geological conditions;
  • Communicate with support services staff on plan of action for map development, timing, and deadlines;
  • Assists in other projects when requested by co-workers, project managers, etc., where help is needed;
  • Perform other duties related to projects to assure timely meeting of deadlines. These duties may require assisting in figure or presentation development, map folding, bindery of reports, budget and time allocation calculations, etc.; and
  • Ability and willingness to deploy offshore overseeing data acquisition.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, geosciences, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Prior research experience in offshore geoscience. (preferred)
  • Internship(s), co-op position, or prior work experience relevant to the position. (preferred)
  • Demonstrated strong interest in offshore geosciences. (required)
  • Knowledgeable proficiency with computers and geological mapping software (i.e., Kingdom Suite, Global Mapper, SonarWiz)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
