What you will do:

  • Executes the complete procurement process from preparing all aspects of competitive bids through to, commercial evaluation, recommendations, and purchase order issuance. Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and that user requirements are met.
  • Develop, negotiate, and assist in the execution of supplier agreements.
  • Obtains optimized pricing and cost-efficient methods to assist in company- wide cost saving measures.
  • Negotiates with suppliers the terms and conditions, pricing, delivery, payment terms, cancellation charges, liquidated damages clauses, warranty, scope of work and change orders as required.
  • Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedure, and audit guidelines/Sox requirements.
  • Issues and approves purchase orders per ASL.
  • Investigates and facilitates issue resolution relative to procurement activities as requested.
  • Identify efficiencies and cost reduction / continuous improvement opportunities within the sourcing process.
  • Enable Supply Chain strategic objectives by periodically reviewing and recommending adjustments to processes, systems, and tools.
  • Understands and participates in Supply Chain Management Department team initiatives.
  • P2P subject matter expert - business representation for ERP implementation, update input, system enhancement testing and new system driven initiatives.
  • Mentors, guides and trains department staff or end user department personnel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • Related university degree in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management, Finance, Bus. Admin or related field with four or more years of directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation considered an asset.

Physical Requirements (Office) include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
