The role

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full time Events Coordinator for our recently established Houston office. This position will report to the Events & Marketing Manager and will be a member of the Americas Business Development and Communications team. The Events Coordinator will focus primarily on supporting internal and client-facing events in our Houston office and will also provide support to important client events across our Americas region. You will work closely with our Business Development and Communications colleagues, lawyers, and clients to deliver seamless and high-quality event support in line with the Clifford Chance brand and strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • With support from the Events & Marketing Manager, lead on the planning and execution of internal and client-facing events for our Houston office (including client receptions, client seminars, client webinars, alumni events, pro bono meetings, and other internal and external social events hosted by Clifford Chance').
  • Coordinate the sponsorship of, and participation in industry conferences, working with Business Development managers, the branding team, and partners to maximize our investment and raise our profile.
  • Proactively research and source local events and dinner venues, and , negotiate contracts for venues, entertainment and vendors/suppliers.
  • Utilize the Firm's online marketing tools and CRM database to manage events; develop a deep knowledge of our client engagement policies to be an advocate for Clifford Chance's global privacy, hospitality and other policies.
  • Assist with site inspections prior to selecting venues for off-site events, including conferences and dinners; some travel is required including outside of Houston, TX.
  • Keep abreast of marketplace trends within the industry and provide relevant and innovative ideas to stakeholders and internal clients, including refining existing programs.
  • Provide centralized team support to the wider Business Development team in the region.
  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience

  • 1-2 years of event planning experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • High School Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office with the ability to learn new technologies and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, self-starter, detail oriented with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines/priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Make effective decisions using sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain strong internal working relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and client service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned including working outside the core business hours as needed.
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 15%.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
